Navratri 2024 is around and it is the time when most people from Hindu religion and from Indian Sub-continent immerse themselves into prayers and celebrations. Navratri festival this year will be observed for nine days starting from 03rd October 2024 until 11th October 2024 and will be followed by Dussehra next day 12th October 2024.
Navratri is an auspicious Hindu festival that is celebrated to worship the nine divine form of Goddess Durga.
It is the time when you can smell the aroma of various delicacies cooked in households using clarified butter and also share a divine experience from religious prayers and ceremonies.
Since Navratri days are considered the sacred nine days, many people often give up on non-vegetarian food and some even give up onion and garlic.

The Story of Navratri
Goddess Durga is identified as Adi Parashakti or Param Shakti since she is considered to be the original creator, observer and destroyer of the whole universe.
Navratri festival is celebrated to worship the nine divine forms of Goddess Durga. There are many stories associated with Navratri but the most prominent one is about the battle between Goddess Durga and demon Mahishasur.
The demon Mahishasur had become a big threat to the whole universe and not even the gods were able to save the universe.
When there was nothing that the gods were able to do they plead Goddess Durga for help.
Goddess Durga heard their plea and fought a fierce battle with Mahishasur which lasted for days. Eventually she defeated him and was able to save the whole universe.
People celebrate this victory each year by fasting for nine days and conducting prayers and various religious ceremonies.

Sabudana Khichdi

Sabudana Vada
There are numerous Sabudana recipes, but this one – Sabudana Vada is absolutely amazing with some Coriander Chutney or spicy sauce. The crispy crunchy Vada is an absolute must this Navratri.

Vrat Ke Aloo
