Cosmopolitan Drink – How to Mix
Cosmopolitan drink tastes best when served in a chilled glass. It also gives it the necessary aesthetic to be the perfect party drink.
So, before you start to mix the drink, put some ice in your cocktail glass and let it chill for sometime.
We have used freshly squeezed lime to make this drink as it tastes better that way, but if you are just have too many guests to entertain, you can also use lime juice available in market. (We just don’t want you to loose that party fun just making drinks).
Now take some Vodka, Cointreau, Cranberry juice, freshly squeezed lime juice and lot of ice in Shaker and shake it vigorously for around 20 – 30 secs.
Remove the ice from the glass and strain the drink into the cocktail glass.
Now it is time for some fun and add that required secret splash to your drink.
So, just before you serve, get that splash of orange aroma by doing this trick.
To do this, take a small piece of orange zest ~ 5 cm and hold it between your finger and thumb (do not press) just above your Cosmopolitan cocktail (~7 – 8 cm).
Now light the lighter and place it between the peel and the Cosmos glass. Ready? Good!
Now, gently bend the peel so it releases essential oils onto the lighter flame, igniting a flame that will settle the oil on the surface of the drink.
And that is all, now garnish the drink with zest of orange or you can even let it slip it into the drink before you serve to someone or just yourself.
Take a sip and you can smell the fresh aroma of orange zest and the oil which makes it quite refreshing and special.
Recommendation
- If you don’t want to do that flame trick, then you can just take a zest of orange and twist it to release some essential oils and just let it slip into the Cosmopolitan before you serve. As an addition you can just rub the zest slightly on the glass rim before letting it slip into the drink.

- 15 ml Cointreau liqueur
- 30 ml Cranberry Juice
- 10 ml Lime Juice

How to mix Cosmopolitan Drink
