Making Kaddu Ka Raita At Home

Preparation of Kaddu Ka Raita

As a very first step to make Kaddu Ka Raita take Pumpkin and wash it with clean water. Now peel the outer layer or skin of Pumpkin aka Kaddu.

Once you have removed the outer layer of pumpkin cut it into small and medium sized pieces.

Now wash them and put them in a utensil. Add 2 cups of water and put it on high flame to boil it.

Check if the pumpkin pieces are soft by pressing them a bit with a spoon or spatula. If the pieces are soft turn off the flame, drain excess water, mash the pumpkin pieces. Let it cool for a minute or two.

Making Kaddu Ka Raita

To make Kaddu Ka Raita, you would need Boiled Pumpkin aka Kaddu pieces, Red chillies powder, Roasted Cumin seeds, Rock Salt and Yogurt.

Take boiled Pumpkin pieces out from hot water and let it cool down for few minutes. Now mash them properly with the help of spoon or spatula.

Now as next step to make Kaddu Ka Raita, take Natural Yogurt in a large bowl and mix it well so that it will become smooth.

Now add mashed boiled pumpkin in the yougurt

  • 1 cup Natural Yogurt Dahi
  • 3/4 tsp Rock Salt Sendha Namak
  • 1 tsp Red chillies powder Lal Mirch
  • 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Seeds Bhuna Jeera

    1 cup Natural Yogurt, 100 g Pumpkin
  • Now add Rock Salt, Red Chillies powder and Roasted Cumin seeds to it. Mix it well.
    3/4 tsp Rock Salt, 1 tsp Red chillies powder, 1 tsp Roasted Cumin Seeds
  • Your Kaddu Raita is ready to be served.

Notes

Few considerations while cooking and serving –
