Making Sabudana Kheer At Home

Pre-Preparation of Sabudana Kheer

Take Tapioca pearls(Sabudana) in a bowl and wash it properly at-least 2 – 3 times.

Now soak it in 1/4 cup of water for 3 – 4 hrs. Once Tapioca pearls (Sabudana) is soaked properly they will be double their size.

Preparation of Sabudana Kheer

To make Sabudana Kheer you require Whole Milk, Tapioca pearls aka Sabudana, Sugar, Cardamom, Cashew nuts and Almonds.

Chop the Almonds and Cashew nuts.

Take whole milk in a deep utensil and add Cardamom powder to it. Keep it on a medium flame to boil.

Now simmer the flame and add soaked Tapioca pearls(Sabudana) to the milk.

On simmer flame keep stirring the Tapioca pearls Kheer aka Sabudana kheer for another 5 mins.

Now add Sugar in it and stir for a minute. Make sure Sugar is dissolved completely else stir a little more.

You can also use Caster sugar instead of granulated sugar while making dessert since it dissolves very quickly.

Now add chopped Almonds and Cashew nuts to Tapioca pearls Kheer aka Sabudana Kheer.

After few minutes add Cashews, Almonds and other dry fruits to Sabudana Kheer

Stir for a minute. Dessert is almost ready.

Chef Recommendation for Sabudana Kheer

  • 1/4 tsp Cardamom Powder Elaichi

    3 tbsp Sugar, 4 Cashew Nuts, 4 Almonds
  • Tapioca pearls kheer aka Sabudana kheer is ready to be served.

Notes

Few considerations while cooking and serving –
  • If you do not have Cardamom powder but have Cardamom pods, then take 2 Cardamom pods, peel them and crush the Cardamom seeds to make Cardamom powder.
